Škoda Auto delivered 812,400 vehicles worldwide in the first nine months of 2026, up 6.1% year on year, and kept its place as Europe’s second-best-selling car brand. Operating profit rose 7.4% to €1.9 billion. Deliveries of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models grew by more than a third, and the new Epiq and Peaq have already taken more than 82,000 orders.

Škoda has released its figures for January to September 2026, and they show a company still growing at a time when much of the industry is under pressure. Sales revenue rose 3.5% to €23.1 billion. Operating profit grew faster, up 7.4% to €1.9 billion, and net cash flow came in at €1.8 billion. Return on sales improved to 8.3%, from 8.0% in 2025. The Czech manufacturer says this makes it one of Europe’s most profitable volume brands.

Germany drives European growth

Worldwide deliveries reached 812,400 vehicles, 6.1% more than a year earlier. In Europe (EU27+4), Škoda recorded 666,798 registrations. According to official ACEA figures cited by the company, that kept it in second place among car brands in the region.

Germany is still Škoda’s biggest market by a wide margin. Deliveries there rose 15.9% to 178,300 units. Other major European markets also grew:

  • United Kingdom: 71,700 (+8.4%)
  • Czech Republic: 70,500 (+4.2%)
  • Poland: 50,700 (+10.4%)
  • France: 39,800 (+10.0%)

Outside Europe, India was the largest market at 53,200 units (+7.8%), followed by Türkiye at 32,600 (+1.2%). In percentage terms, the fastest growth came in Egypt (+48.8%), Hungary (+19.4%) and Belgium (+17.1%).

Almost one in three European Škodas now has a plug

Electrified models were the biggest source of growth. Škoda delivered 203,100 fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles worldwide, up 34.7%. Battery-electric deliveries alone rose 41.3% to 167,400 units. In Europe, 29.8% of the brand’s deliveries were plug-in models, up from 24.1% a year earlier.

The Elroq and Enyaq account for most of this. The company says they are the third and fourth best-selling electric models in Europe. The Elroq reached 92,200 global deliveries (+52.7%) and is the best-selling EV in Denmark, Germany and Slovakia. The larger Enyaq found 72,700 buyers and leads the electric market in the Czech Republic. Together, the two models make Škoda Europe’s fifth-best-selling BEV brand.

Epiq and Peaq take the range to 14 model series

This year Škoda doubled its electric line-up with two new models: the Epiq, built in Spain, and the Peaq SUV, built at the main plant in Mladá Boleslav. By mid-October the two had taken more than 82,000 orders between them. Škoda now offers 14 model series, which the company says is a record.

The combustion-engined Octavia remains the best-selling Škoda overall at 138,000 units, although that is 2.9% fewer than last year. Next come the Kodiaq (107,800; +11.9%), Kamiq (92,200; −3.3%), Elroq (92,200; +52.7%) and Fabia (88,100; −2.1%).

India, which Škoda describes as its fourth-largest market overall, was helped by demand for the updated Slavia and Kushaq. In North Africa, deliveries in Egypt rose to 5,000 units and in Morocco to 4,700 (+4.5%).

Margins under pressure next year

Interim CEO Holger Peters was positive about the results but warned that conditions will get harder in 2027:

“This is an important foundation for managing the challenges of more difficult conditions in the coming year, including even greater competition and margin pressure as a result of our successful electrification drive.”

That warning reflects a problem across the industry. Electric cars generally earn manufacturers less per vehicle than combustion models. As Škoda’s EV share grows, holding on to an 8% return on sales will become more difficult.
