BMW has published a fresh set of photos and footage of the new 3 Series, shot at the BMW Group Media & Stakeholder Days Provence 2026. The release also gives official WLTP figures for two versions: the combustion-engined M350 xDrive and the all-electric i3 50 xDrive.
New images from Provence
The BMW Group has put out more media material for the new BMW 3 Series. The images and video were taken on location in the south of France, at the BMW Group Media & Stakeholder Days Provence 2026, where the company showed the car to media and stakeholders.
The release is mainly a set of images. It does not include new technical details, prices or launch dates. Its only data is the official consumption and emissions figures for the two models it names.
Two very different powertrains
The figures show how wide the new 3 Series range is. At the top of the combustion line-up is the BMW M350 xDrive. BMW gives a WLTP combined fuel consumption of 8.2 l/100 km, CO₂ emissions of 187 g/km and CO₂ class G.
The electric model is the BMW i3 50 xDrive. Its WLTP combined energy consumption is 18.0–13.4 kWh/100 km, depending on specification. It has zero local CO₂ emissions and CO₂ class A.
The figures follow the EnVKV format. This is the German consumer-labelling regulation for new cars, which grades cars by CO₂ class from A to G. The M350 xDrive is at the bottom of that scale and the i3 50 xDrive is at the top.
What it means
BMW is using both combustion and electric power in its core mid-size line. Badging the electric version as the i3 and the combustion versions under the 3 Series and M names shows that the maker is offering buyers both options next to each other. It is not replacing one with the other.
BMW adds that the content and features shown may vary by equipment, market and software version, and may differ from later production vehicles.
