Škoda has added a Sportline version to the Epiq, its smallest and most affordable all-electric SUV. The new model brings a sportier look and, according to the company, the most standard equipment of any Epiq. It is offered with two power outputs, badged Epiq 40 and Epiq 55.
Škoda has announced a new version of the Epiq from its Mladá Boleslav headquarters. The Epiq is the brand’s entry point into battery-electric SUVs, and the new Sportline gives it a more dynamic look. Škoda already uses the Sportline name on other models, where it marks a sport-styled version that sits apart from the standard trims.
The best-equipped Epiq
Škoda says the Sportline has the most standard equipment of any Epiq version. The equipment list covers both lighting and the cabin:
- LED Matrix headlights
- LED taillights
- An illuminated grille
- Electrically adjustable sports seats
- A heated three-spoke sports steering wheel with paddles
- Black headlining
On the outside, gloss black accents set the Sportline apart from the rest of the range. The manufacturer says they add to the car’s sporty appearance.
Two power outputs
Buyers can choose between two versions, the Epiq 40 and the Epiq 55, each with a different power output. The release does not give power, battery or range figures for either one.
Škoda’s preliminary data puts combined energy consumption at 13.7–14.1 kWh/100 km, with combined CO₂ emissions of 0 g/km. The company says the exact consumption figure depends on the equipment chosen.
What it means
Because the Epiq is the smallest and cheapest model in Škoda’s electric SUV line-up, a Sportline version shows the brand moving its familiar trim structure down into the entry-level EV class. Buyers who want a small electric SUV with sportier styling and a long standard equipment list now have that option within the Epiq range. Most rivals in this growing segment, however, still compete mainly on price and range.
