Two Škoda Auto employees drove a production Škoda Peaq 90 from Mladá Boleslav to the Dutch coast without plugging in, covering 936 km (582 miles) on one charge of its 91 kWh battery. The run was supervised by certification body TÜV SÜD and returned an average consumption of 9.2 kWh/100 km. Škoda presents the result as a range record for seven-seat electric SUVs.

Škoda has published the results of a long-distance efficiency run with its largest electric SUV, the seven-seat Peaq. According to the company, a series-production car travelled 936 km (582 miles) on a single battery charge, with certification authority TÜV SÜD supervising the attempt.

The idea came from two Škoda Auto employees, Marek Jež and Jakub Krs, who wanted to see how far a seven-seat electric vehicle could go in real-world conditions. They also drove the car themselves, taking turns at the wheel.

The car and the route

The vehicle was a standard Škoda Peaq 90 with a 91 kWh traction battery (86 kWh net), 210 kW of power and rear-wheel drive. It ran on 19-inch wheels fitted with the standard low-rolling-resistance tyres. Škoda points to the Peaq range’s aerodynamic work as a factor, quoting a drag coefficient of 0.249.

The crew left Škoda’s headquarters in Mladá Boleslav at midday on Tuesday 25 August, drove through Germany with stops to swap drivers, rest and eat, and reached the Netherlands early on the Wednesday morning. The journey finished that afternoon in the seaside resort of Zandvoort.

What 9.2 kWh/100 km means

The headline figure behind the distance is the average energy consumption: 9.2 kWh/100 km. That is a very low number for a large seven-seat SUV, and it reflects a drive planned around efficiency rather than pace — steady speeds, a fixed route and no recharging stops.

Record runs of this type are staged to show what is technically possible rather than what owners should expect day to day. Everyday consumption depends on speed, traffic, temperature, load and terrain, so the 936 km should be read as a best-case demonstration rather than a usable range figure. Škoda has not stated an official WLTP range for the Peaq 90 in this release.
