Renault is heading to the IAA Transportation show in Hanover with the next step in its light commercial vehicle push. The centrepiece is the New Trafic Van E-Tech electric, shown in detail a few weeks before it reaches the market, alongside an expanded services offering and three conversion levels. The show runs from 15 to 20 September, with Renault’s press conference set for 14 September at 9:20 am.
Renault will use this year’s IAA Transportation show in Hanover to open what it describes as a new chapter in its light commercial vehicle offensive. The show takes place from 15 to 20 September, and the headline act on the French brand’s stand is the New Trafic Van E-Tech electric.
A new Trafic ahead of its market launch
The New Trafic Van E-Tech electric will be presented in detail at the show, a few weeks ahead of its market launch, according to Renault. The van arrives together with an expanded services offering and three conversion levels — a nod to how much of the mid-size van segment is sold not as a plain panel van but as a base for bodybuilders, fleet specialists and trade-specific fit-outs.
Renault has not published technical details for the new Trafic in the show announcement, so power, battery capacity, range and pricing remain open until the press conference.
Press conference and stand
The press conference is scheduled for 14 September at 9:20 am, the day before the show opens its doors. Renault says it will use the slot to set out its LCV strategy and to walk through the New Trafic E-Tech electric. The conference will be streamed live and made available as a replay.
On the show floor, Renault Pro+ — the brand’s commercial vehicle business arm — will have a stand in Hall 13.
Who is speaking
Three Renault Group executives are listed for the event. Jan Ptacek has been with Renault Group for more than 30 years in senior sales and marketing roles across the Czech Republic, France, Russia, Ukraine and Romania; he was CEO of Renault Russia from 2019 to 2022 and CEO of Renault Group in Türkiye from 2023 to 2025.
Frédéric Clermont has spent his career inside Renault Group across marketing, product, vehicle launches and after-sales, serving as Renault Brand Product Launch Director from 2021 to 2023 and Renault Brand Premium Product Director from 2023 to 2026.
Zakaria Zeghari has worked in marketing, sales and dealer network development, including around twelve years at Renault Retail Group. He was Europe Sales Director for the Renault and Dacia brands from 2018 to 2020 and Vice President, Fleet and Sales Efficiency from 2021 to 2024.
What it means
The mid-size van class is one of Europe’s most competitive commercial segments, and an electric Trafic pushes Renault further into a battle for fleet buyers who increasingly need zero-emission options for city centres and low-emission zones. The emphasis on services and conversion levels suggests Renault is aiming at operators who buy a van as a working tool rather than a finished product — the part of the market where availability of ready-made conversions often decides the order.
Full technical specifications and pricing are expected when Renault holds its press conference on 14 September, ahead of the show opening on 15 September.
