BMW M Motorsport will enter three M4 GT3 EVOs at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau on 21–22 November. Team WRT will run Kelvin van der Linde and Raffaele Marciello, and Team KRC will field Augusto Farfus. BMW has come close to winning the main race in recent years, and this line-up is its next attempt at the GT3 season finale on the Guia Circuit.

Three works drivers, two teams

The FIA GT World Cup on the streets of Macau (China) closes the GT3 season, and BMW M Motorsport will be there with three cars. Two BMW M4 GT3 EVOs will race for Team WRT and one for Team KRC. All three are driven by BMW M works drivers: Kelvin van der Linde (South Africa), Raffaele Marciello (Switzerland) and Augusto Farfus (Brazil). The event takes place on the Guia Circuit on 21–22 November.

Van der Linde returns after seven years

Kelvin van der Linde has raced in Macau once before, in 2019. This will be his second start on the street circuit and his first as a BMW M works driver. As in the DTM, his car will run in the colours of Premium Technology Partner Shell. BMW says the livery will be shown at a later date.

“I’m really looking forward to Macau, having raced there seven years ago. I have great memories of it. Now I’m competing there with BMW M Motorsport.” — Kelvin van der Linde

He also referred to Sheldon, who has raced the Shell car in Macau in recent years: “I’m proud to continue representing our name with the Shell logo on the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. I hope we can continue the podium streak.”

Marciello chases a third main-race win

Raffaele Marciello will drive the second Team WRT car. He won the Macau main race in 2019 and 2023. In 2024, racing for BMW M Motorsport, he won the qualification race. In the main race he was fighting for the lead when he retired just before the finish. He finished second in 2025.

“The past two years have been challenging. We always had good races, but unfortunately, it was never quite enough for the win. This time, I want to be back on the top step of the podium.” — Raffaele Marciello

Farfus back with KRC

Augusto Farfus won in Macau in 2018 and returns this year after a one-year break. He drives for Team KRC, with whom he finished second in the 2024 main race. He says he has been on the podium in each of his recent Macau starts, and he expects some unpredictability: “Macau is always a bit of a lottery, but we’re coming back with a good feeling and hope for a strong result.”

What BMW expects

Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, says Marciello and Farfus have a lot of Macau experience and are among the favourites every time they start. He calls van der Linde’s return a challenge.

“After unfortunately missing out on victory in the main race in recent years despite strong performances, we are all the more determined this time to be on the top step of the podium.” — Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport

The Macau World Cup is a standalone event outside the regular championships. It has a qualification race and a main race on a narrow street circuit. That format, plus BMW’s recent near-misses, explains why the maker is entering three cars with experienced drivers.
