BMW M Motorsport customer teams collected a run of championships at season finales in the USA, Germany and Italy. Turner Motorsport took pole, a class win and the GT World Challenge America title at the Indianapolis 8 Hour, while Adrenalin Motorsport and Schubert Motorsport won NLS titles at the Nürburgring. Jens Klingmann also took his third Italian GT Sprint crown.
The 2026 racing season is reaching its final rounds, and BMW’s customer racing programme ended a busy weekend with several championships. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO and BMW M4 GT4 EVO did most of the winning, with a smaller entry-level car taking the biggest prize at the Nürburgring.
Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport, called these “the weeks of decision in the 2026 motorsport year”. The weekend also had setbacks. At Hockenheim, BMW drivers narrowly missed out on the titles in the final races of the DTM, the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany. However, FK Performance Motorsport did win the ADAC GT Masters team title.
Turner Motorsport wins at Indianapolis
The Indianapolis 8 Hour was the season finale for both the GT World Challenge America and the Intercontinental GT Challenge. It went well for Turner Motorsport. Its #29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, driven by BMW M works drivers Robby Foley and Connor De Phillippi with Justin Rothberg, started from pole. It finished third overall and won the Pro Cup class.
The result gave Foley and Rothberg the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS title, their third in a row. Their first two titles came in Pro-Am, and this one came in their first season in the Pro Cup.
“Wow, we took the class win at Indy – what a race,” said Foley. “On top of that, our third GT World Challenge title in a row and the first in the Pro Cup – I can’t thank the entire Turner Motorsport team and BMW M Motorsport enough. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO was a rocket.”
The win made up for a difficult weekend a week earlier at Road Atlanta. There, Turner missed out on both the GTD title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the GS title in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Two other BMW M4 GT3 EVO teams also raced at Indianapolis: Random Vandals Racing and Riley Technologies finished eighth and ninth in Pro-Am.
Two NLS titles at the Nürburgring
The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) ended with a four-hour race on the Nordschleife. Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels arrived with a four-point lead. Sven Markert, Jannik Fübrich and Edoardo Bugane won the BMW M240i Racing Cup class in their #650 BMW M240i Racing, which secured the overall NLS title. The team says this is its eighth title in nine years, after a one-year gap.
“I’m just incredibly relieved. I feel like I have no fingernails left from all the tension,” said Markert.
Schubert Motorsport finished on the podium. Tim Tramnitz and Jordan Pepper were third in the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, and the team won the NLS Speed Trophy. Alexandru Vasilescu won the Gentleman Trophy and SP10 class titles in the AV Racing by BLACK FALCON #177 BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Gamota Racing put both of its BMW M4 GT3 EVOs on the front row in qualifying and finished sixth and 13th in the race. In total, BMW teams won seven classes at the finale.
Klingmann wins the Italian GT Sprint title on a tiebreak
At Monza, Jens Klingmann won the Italian GT Sprint Championship with BMW Italia Ceccato Racing, sharing the #7 BMW M4 GT3 EVO with Ugo de Wilde. The pair finished tenth in the Pro category in the first race, so the title came down to Sunday. That race began with a multi-car crash at the first chicane, which de Wilde got through largely undamaged. Their rivals Georgi Dimitrov and Simone Riccitelli made an early pit stop in their Lamborghini and went on to lead. Klingmann’s seventh place in Pro was still enough for the title.
“In the end, we were tied on points, and the number of wins was also identical. But we had one more second place than our rivals in the Lamborghini, so we secured the championship,” Klingmann explained. It is his third title in five years.
On Saturday, Charles Weerts and Mathias Villadsen finished second overall in Team Spirit Racing’s #23 BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Anthony McIntosh and Parker Thompson won Pro-Am in the #8 car but lost their title chance when they retired on Sunday.
