Peugeot is opening up its design process to the public for two days at the L’Aventure Peugeot Museum in Sochaux, France. On 21 and 22 November 2026, exterior and interior designers, Colours & Materials specialists and clay and digital modellers will explain how a Peugeot goes from first sketch to production car. Entry is at the museum’s standard admission price, with no separate ticket for the event.

Car design is usually a closed shop. Studios are locked, clay models are covered, and the public only sees the result under lights at a motor show. For one weekend in November, Peugeot is doing the opposite.

The brand is sending its design teams to the L’Aventure Peugeot Museum in Sochaux on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, where they will meet visitors and talk through the creative process behind a new vehicle. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.

Who will actually be there

The line-up covers most of the disciplines involved in creating a car. Exterior and interior designers will attend, along with Colours & Materials designers — the people responsible for paints, trims, fabrics and finishes — plus specialists in digital modelling, clay modelling and model making.

According to Peugeot, they will walk visitors through the stages that take a vehicle from the first sketches to the production model, and share the sources of inspiration behind them. The company frames design as central to its identity, describing it as the point where aesthetics, technology and user experience meet.

Heritage as the backdrop

Sochaux is a deliberate choice of venue. It is the birthplace of the brand, and the L’Aventure Peugeot Museum sits on the site. The collection covers more than 8,000 m² (86,000 sq ft) and spans Peugeot’s full industrial history — documents, everyday objects and both historic and modern vehicles — across permanent and temporary exhibitions. The site also has a brasserie, an auditorium and meeting spaces.

The museum is run by L’Aventure Peugeot, part of the non-profit association L’AVENTURE PEUGEOT CITROËN DS, set up under France’s 1901 law on associations. Alongside the museum, the organisation sells spare parts for classic, vintage and youngtimer models, and offers documentation, maintenance and restoration services. Membership is open to anyone interested in the brand’s history, whether or not they own a classic Peugeot.

What it means for visitors

Events of this kind are rare. Manufacturers occasionally open design studios to the press, but direct access for the general public — and for design students in particular — is unusual. Peugeot says the weekend is open to all visitors, including enthusiasts, families and students, and presents it as a way of showing how its history continues to feed a modern design approach.

The practical terms are simple: no dedicated event ticket, just the museum’s standard admission fee.
