BMW has published details of Dorothea von Boxberg’s appointment to its Board of Management. From 1 September 2026 she becomes the member responsible for People and Real Estate and takes on the role of Labour Relations Director. The move fills one of the most senior human-resources posts at the German carmaker.
BMW has confirmed that Dorothea von Boxberg will take a seat on the Board of Management of BMW AG. According to the company, she assumes responsibility for the People and Real Estate division as of 1 September 2026 and will also serve as Labour Relations Director.
The role
The People and Real Estate portfolio covers human resources across the BMW Group, alongside the company’s property and facilities. The Labour Relations Director is one of the mandated board positions under German corporate law and works closely with employee representatives on workforce matters.
BMW released the announcement together with von Boxberg’s full curriculum vitae, which the company provided as a downloadable document. The press material did not restate her earlier career stations in the body of the announcement, so those details are not reproduced here.
What it means
Senior board changes at a manufacturer the size of BMW are closely watched, as the people and labour brief carries weight in an industry managing the shift to electric drive and the reshaping of its workforce. The appointment gives the division a designated board member and labour representative from the start of September.
BMW listed Max-Morten Borgmann of the BMW Group as the press contact for the announcement.
