With up to 782 horsepower from an innovative hybrid powertrain, the new Bentley Flying Spur Speed is stronger, faster, and more efficient than ever.
The new Flying Spur Speed is described by Bentley as the factory’s first four-door supercar. The fourth generation of this luxurious saloon is built around the brand’s new ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid,’ enabling the model to drive locally emissions-free on electric power while achieving performance worthy of a full-blooded sports car.
Thanks to the combination of a newly developed 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and an efficient electric motor, the Flying Spur Speed delivers a total output of 782 horsepower and a torque of 1,000 Newton meters. This marks an increase of 147 horsepower and 100 Newton meters compared to the W12-powered predecessor. This ensures a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.5 seconds, making it the fastest sedan Bentley has ever produced.
Remarkably, these powerful figures come with lower emissions, achieved in part through a high-pressure fuel injection system operating at 350 bars, ensuring a cleaner combustion process. The electric motor eliminates any turbo lag, allowing the use of two single-scroll turbochargers, which reduces complexity and permits higher temperatures, further minimizing emissions.
When driving in electric mode, the V8 twin-turbo engine is deactivated, and the 190-horsepower, 450 Newton-meter electric motor propels the luxurious Bentley through traffic with impressive pace. The 25.7 kWh battery allows for an electric range of up to 76 kilometers (WLTP) at speeds of up to 140 km/h. The battery can be charged while driving or via a charging station, with a full charge taking two hours and 45 minutes.
While the innovative powertrain delivers impressive performance, the driving experience is complemented by the most advanced suspension system ever. The new Flying Spur Speed comes standard with Bentley Performance Active Chassis, which includes Bentley Dynamic Ride and all-wheel steering for enhanced agility in tight corners and increased stability during highway driving.
New advanced two-valve air dampers provide an even more noticeable difference in the driving modes: Comfort, Bentley, and Sport. The sharp dynamics characteristic of the predecessor’s Sport mode is maintained, while comfort in Comfort mode is significantly improved.
The new Bentley’s performance-oriented character is emphasized by a classic yet sporty design. The dark tinting of trim and other traditionally chrome-plated components gives the exterior a dynamic appearance, while the distinctive Speed grille, front bumper, and rear end contribute to a fresh and purposeful look. New LED lights integrated into the front doors project a lively version of the Bentley logo onto the pavement when the doors are opened, and new 22-inch ‘Ten Swept Spoke’ wheels are available in either gray or black finishes.
Inside the spacious cabin, you can enjoy Bentley’s renowned design and craftsmanship, featuring new seat designs with three-dimensional diamond quilting and a revised perforation pattern in the seat centers. To match the dark elements of the exterior, you can opt for the Dark Chrome Specification trim, which includes dark-toned door handles, buttons, speakers, and several other components, giving the luxurious interior a sporty and understated expression.
The new Flying Spur Speed is offered with three different impressive sound systems. The standard system delivers 650 watts and features 10 speakers, while a 1,500-watt system from Bang & Olufsen with 16 speakers and illuminated speaker grilles is available for particularly passionate customers. Finally, a powerful 2,200-watt system from Naim with a total of 19 speakers and active bass units in the front seats can be selected.
