Ford has launched a new eight-episode podcast that follows the history of Ford Racing back to 1901. It is called ‘You Better Win’, a rallying cry from the company’s 1960s campaign at Le Mans. The series covers what Ford calls the most important chapters in its motorsport history.
A title borrowed from Le Mans
The podcast takes its name from a phrase linked to Ford’s 1960s effort at the Le Mans 24 Hours. According to the company, “you better win” was the rallying cry of that era. Ford’s push at the French endurance race became one of the best-known stories in motorsport, and in 1966 the GT40 finished first, second and third.
Eight episodes, more than a century of racing
Ford says ‘You Better Win’ runs to eight episodes and goes back to 1901 to trace the story of Ford Racing. That makes the company’s competition history longer than a century. The announcement came through Ford’s From the Road editorial channel, in a story by Paul Kampe.
Ford has not yet said who hosts the series, who the guests are, how long each episode runs, which platforms carry it, or when each episode comes out.
What it means
More and more carmakers are using podcasts and other long-form media to tell their own heritage stories, and motorsport is one of Ford’s richest sources. Fans who already know the Le Mans story from books and film should find an audio series an easy way to explore the wider history around it.
The eight-episode podcast is available now, according to Ford.
