Alpine Endurance Team will race its A424 at Monza for the first time when the FIA World Endurance Championship ends its 2026 season there on 6–8 November. The French squad comes to Italy after podiums in Austin and Fuji, and it is keeping the same two-driver crews for its two cars.

The final round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship takes place at Monza, the circuit known as the Temple of Speed. It will be the first race there for the Alpine A424. Alpine has raced at Monza before, though: its last appearance in 2023 ended with a podium in LMP2 with the A470.

Podiums in Austin and Fuji, a hard race in Barcelona

Alpine says its podium finishes in Austin and Fuji show the pace and progress it has made this season. The previous round in Barcelona went less well. The #35 was hit on the opening lap, and the #36 lost tyre pressure late in the race, which according to the team cost it a possible top-five result. Both cars still scored points, with the #36 finishing eighth and the #35 tenth.

A fast circuit in the autumn

Monza’s lap is 5.793 km (3.6 miles) long. Its long straights end in heavy braking zones and tight chicanes. The team says three things will matter most: good straight-line speed, the right aerodynamic balance and a stable car under braking. Over six hours of racing, getting through traffic and making clean pit stops will be just as important.

The championship normally races at Monza in summer, so the November date is new. Alpine expects grip levels and tyre behaviour to be a key focus in practice, and the crews will use each session to refine their set-ups.

The team tested at Monza in February 2025 and will use that data in its preparations. However, Alpine says the car has developed since then and the autumn weather will be different, so it will need to reassess the car in practice.

Unchanged driver line-up

Alpine is keeping the crews it used in Fuji and Barcelona. Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi will share the #35 Alpine A424, and Jules Gounon and Victor Martins will drive the #36.

Team Principal Philippe Sinault said the round will have “a special significance” for the team, and called it its last “dance in blue”. He added:

“This season has revealed and confirmed both the team’s and the A424’s full potential, so our ambitions will be high as we close this chapter with Alpine. Strong top speed, optimal aerodynamic balance and stability under braking will be the keys to achieving a strong result.”
