Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the all-new G 580 with EQ Technology—a vehicle that blends classic G-Class design with groundbreaking electric performance and advanced technology. This iconic off-road vehicle is now available in an electric version that offers both power and style while maintaining its historical charm. The car has been launched in an Edition One version with a starting price of 2,186,271 DKK.
The Edition One variant comes equipped with a host of luxurious features. On the exterior, the vehicle boasts the AMG Night Package, which adds a rugged and sporty look with dark accents. The brake calipers are painted a striking blue, complemented by 20-inch AMG alloy wheels in a 10-spoke aerodynamic design.
Inside, the G 580 features luxurious nappa leather with blue contrast stitching adorning the seats, dashboard, and steering wheel, creating an exclusive and cohesive interior. The Comfort Package and G-ROAR sound system are also included, ensuring a top-notch audio experience even in the most challenging terrains.
The new G 580 with EQ Technology is equipped with four electric motors—one at each wheel—delivering a total output of 580 hp and a torque of 1,164 Nm. This setup allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.
With a range of up to 460 km on a single charge and the capability for rapid charging of up to 200 kW DC, this G-Class sets new standards for electric driving in the luxury segment. The vehicle is not only designed for urban driving but also excels in demanding terrains, featuring a ground clearance of 25 cm and an impressive fording depth of 85 cm.
The G 580 with EQ Technology marks a new era for the G-Class and demonstrates Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to electrification. This vehicle is ideal for the environmentally conscious adventurer who does not want to compromise on performance or luxury. While the Edition One is the first version to be launched, additional variants of the electric G-Class will be introduced in the future.
