Škoda Auto is rolling out Camp Mode in the MyŠkoda app, letting owners turn their electric car into a comfortable base for overnight stays and longer breaks. The feature keeps a chosen cabin temperature automatically, including through the night. It will be offered across all of the brand’s electric model lines as long as Škoda Connect services are active.
Škoda Auto is expanding its MyŠkoda digital ecosystem with a new function called Camp Mode, aimed at drivers who want to use their electric car as a place to rest rather than just a means of getting somewhere. According to the company, the feature lets customers use the vehicle as a comfortable base for overnight stays and extended pauses on a journey.
Keeping the cabin comfortable overnight
The idea behind Camp Mode is simple: the car automatically maintains a cabin temperature the driver has selected, and it keeps doing so overnight. Škoda says this gives travellers more flexibility, whether they are stopping for a nap on a long trip or spending a full night in the car. Because an electric vehicle carries a large battery, using it to run climate control for hours is more practical than in a combustion car left idling.
Available across the electric range
The manufacturer says Camp Mode will be available across all of its electric model series, naming the Epiq, Elroq, Enyaq and Peaq. The only condition is that Škoda Connect services are active on the car. Notably, the company states the feature works regardless of the vehicle’s generation or software version, which suggests existing electric Škodas already on the road should be able to use it rather than only the newest cars.
What it means
Cabin-conditioning and pre-heating functions are already common in connected cars, but framing them as a dedicated overnight camping feature reflects growing interest in using EVs for car-based travel and “vehicle-to-comfort” scenarios. By tying Camp Mode to Škoda Connect rather than to a specific model year, Škoda positions the function as a broad add-on for its EV owners rather than a headline feature reserved for a flagship. The company has not stated a firm launch date or any limits on how the mode manages battery charge overnight.
